Marketplace Ministries

“Marketplace Ministries” is a phrase we borrowed from our amazing international workers who are discovering that the Gospel can (and should) be empowered to make a difference not just inside the four walls of a church, but in every area of life. 

We believe that when God’s people move on mission in and through the culture around them, creating everyday spaces for everyday connections in which the Spirit is active and moving, lives are drastically changed, discipleship happens organically, and connections are made.

The culture of Bend is becoming increasingly “Post-Christian”. In fact, Bend is considered one of the least churched cities in the Pacific Northwest (which is considered the least-churched region in our nation). As such, the ways in which we do ministry have to adapt to the new needs of this culture. 

By observing our international workers who are growing successful and impactful ministries in other “Post-Christian” communities around the world, we are seeing that Marketplace Ministries is a powerful tool creating new open doors to the Gospel and allowing people to receive the Good News in new and creative ways. 

We are excited to learn from their success and see how God can use the marketplace in Bend as a powerful ministry tool. We are prayerfully pursuing different ideas for potential Marketplace Ministries in the future.
